Game Title:Animal Crossing: Pocket Military camp
Platform:Apple iPhone
Hours Played:oh lord… probably over 120 or so
About The Game
I miss this quondam loading screen… the new one is ugly!
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a mobile game that came out in November 2017. I was And so EXCITED for an Beast Crossing game to play on my phone- I remember I couldn't look to become off work so I could download it and play!
This game is a flake unlike from other Ac games in the fact that you "manage" a campsite and invite the villagers to hang out there! Yous can also decorate you military camp and your rv (and later on, your cabin), collect fish, bugs, fruit and shells, and participate in one of the many events that are always going on!
Annotation that there actually isn't an "catastrophe" to this game. I considered the game browbeaten when I invited all of the bachelor animals to my campsite, though more animals are added into the game every then often!
What I Liked
At its core, this game is just… so beautiful. Seeing and then many of my favorite villagers at my campsite is crawly and I dear giving them gifts and treats! The more yous interact with them, the more they level up, which in plough increases YOUR overall level. Equally of my time of writing this, I'm at Level 142… subsequently almost ii years of playing, that'southward not too shabby! The level cap is somewhere over 200 correct now, though that changes depending on how many villagers are in the game.
I too really similar the fact that in that location are monthly events that keep y'all wanting to come back and check in. The game has gone through a few evolutions since its inception, merely every bit of now, at that place are three dissimilar events each calendar month- a gardening event, a scavenger hunt, and a line-fishing tourney. These events allow you to collect themed furniture. Last month it was all Halloween article of furniture, which was awesome!
What I Didn't Like
Ha… the main gripe I have with this game? It'south a mobile game, and therefore falls into many of the same traps as other mobile games. There is, of course, premium currency (Leaf Tickets) which can be spent on premium items. At offset, Leaf Tickets were pretty easy to come up by, and information technology was like shooting fish in a barrel to buy whatever you wanted. THEN they introduced fortune cookies, which can only be purchased with Foliage Tickets (although they do occasionally sell them for Bells, the game'south standard currency). To make matters worse, the item you get is completely random, so you may end up with several of the same particular that y'all don't desire!
I want to point out that I haven't spent a single dollar on this game. I refuse to participate in gacha type gambles with my real coin, and so I just earn Foliage Tickets organically equally I play the game. Sure, I miss out on stuff sometimes, just oh well.
1 other footling matter about Pocket Camp… I kind of wish it were more than similar a mini Animal Crossing town. The villagers don't actually exercise anything but stand around and sometimes interact with items in your army camp. Fifty-fifty when you lot visit them in other areas, they are pretty static most of the time. The have little tents, but you can't get inside and wait effectually like you lot can with their houses in the core games. With that being said, I know there are probably restrictions placed on the game because information technology is mobile.
Endmost Thoughts
Despite the fact that the gacha mechanics are absolutely ridiculous and the game can be a bit repetitive, I nevertheless discover myself logging in every 24-hour interval! I but ignore what I don't like virtually the game and I don't experience pressured to spend money either. Animal Crossing has always been about living your life the way you want… don't want to fish? Don't bother. Dear interacting with villagers and redecorating your house? Exercise information technology all mean solar day long and no one volition endeavor to stop y'all. Pocket Army camp retains some of that amuse and doesn't force you lot to participate in anything yous don't want to. Many people have Fear Of Missing Out and have to collect ALLTHETHINGS or else their life is ruined, but not me. I'thousand content to check in on my trivial buddies, participate in events as much (or equally little) as I desire, and go about my 24-hour interval.
P.S. The merely thing I HAVE to have in this game is all the animal buddies. In the past, new villagers would just randomly appear and you would have to encounter them and arts and crafts their favorite piece of furniture in order to invite them to your campsite, which was cute and fun. That mechanic has been replaced by a terrible mechanic where you have to send Gulliver away for a take a chance to get an animal map back, and it's a bit annoying and tedious. Patience is a virtue, though, and it is possible to do it without spending money, then I just have my time with it
